Meat by-products
Some ultra-processed dog foods may legally contain material from 4D (dead, dying, diseased or disabled) animals. The label may list this simply as "meat by-products".
High-heat processing
Kibble may be extruded at temperatures up to 200°C. High heat can reduce some naturally occurring vitamins, enzymes and amino acids, and can form compounds known as AGEs.
Mycotoxin risk
Mycotoxins are toxic compounds produced by fungi. They can contaminate dry dog food during storage and have been linked to neurological and digestive problems in dogs.

Petsona does not ask every dog to fit the same recipe. Each meal is personalised, made with human-grade ingredients and gently dehydrated to help retain nutrients, without refrigeration or complicated preparation.
Tell us your dog’s breed, age, weight, activity level, neutering status and health needs. Our system uses this information to personalise their ingredients, nutritional balance and portion size from more than 10,000 possible combinations.
Petsona can tailor recipes to avoid selected ingredients and known food allergens. Tell us about any sensitivities when creating the plan. For diagnosed allergies or medical conditions, consult your veterinarian before changing your dog’s diet.
Transition gradually over about seven days. Start with a small amount of prepared Petsona mixed with their current food, then slowly increase the proportion. Dogs with sensitive stomachs may need a little longer.
